Our client is a leading global chemicals manufacturer based in the North West, operating a large-scale international manufacturing network and supplying essential products to customers worldwide. They are seeking an experienced SAP Applications Manager to lead the strategy, support, and ongoing development of their enterprise applications landscape.
The Role:
You will take ownership of the organisation’s SAP and business applications portfolio, ensuring it continues to support business objectives through secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology solutions. Working with stakeholders across multiple regions, you will lead the applications function, shape future technology strategy, and drive continuous improvement across critical business systems.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead, develop and inspire a global applications team responsible for the support and enhancement of SAP and business-critical applications.
- Define and deliver the global SAP strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring systems remain secure, stable and aligned with future business needs.
- Manage key third-party suppliers and service providers, ensuring strong commercial relationships and high levels of service delivery.
- Develop and maintain governance, standards, policies and change management processes across the SAP and applications environment.
- Drive enterprise data management, ensuring consistent ownership, quality and governance of key master data across business systems.
- Work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement, standardisation and technology-led efficiencies.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Degree-level education (or equivalent) with significant experience delivering SAP application services and managing complex SAP projects.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP and its functional modules, with a proven track record of supporting, developing and optimising enterprise applications.
- Experience leading change within multinational organisations, successfully managing risk while delivering improvements to business-critical systems.
- A broad understanding of business functions including finance, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, logistics and commercial operations.
- Good knowledge of IT governance, financial and IT audit requirements, data governance and security standards.
- The ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions while driving consistency and standardisation across systems.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to build high-performing teams, influence stakeholders at all levels and manage external technology partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- A results-driven approach with the ability to lead geographically dispersed teams across different regions and cultures.
