Discover’s client, a fast-growing technology-driven organisation, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to the evolution of a high-availability cloud-native platform used at international scale.
You will play a key role in designing and building distributed systems that power critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
Improve system performance, reliability, and security
Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimise CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
Contribute to architectural discussions and long-term platform strategy
Review code, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices
Participate in system design, testing, and production monitoring
Your Profile
5+ years of backend development experience
Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
